Self-service Windows Password Reset
This will allow to reset Windows and Microsoft Passwords simultaneously.
Be mindful that all devices will be signed out of Microsoft Products (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, etc) and you’ll receive a notification on your computer to lock your screen and update with the new password. The effect may take anywhere between 1-30 for all devices to receive the PW change notification.
Be sure to read and follow all instructions you see on the password reset webpage.
Be sure to select “forgot my password”.
Click “next”
To change your password, Microsoft requires 2 different forms of authentication. You may have to verify with BOTH mobile app code AND a text message/phone call, etc.
Your options may vary to authenticate. Select whichever authentication you have access to, whether it be mobile app code, mobile notification, text message, or phone call.
Once you’ve authenticated with one method, that option will be removed and you’ll have to authenticate with one additional method.
After successfully authenticated twice, you’ll be able to change your password. Be sure to meet the complexity, history, and length of your new password. NEVER add a single character (like an exclamation mark) to your old password to create a new one. Passphrases are best i.e. I@teASalad!
Once you’ve successfully reset your password, you’ll see a screen that confirms.
